NLG uses RAVE Mobile Alerts to send text message and email alerts to notify subscribers of program closing, delayed opening, early release, and other emergency notifications to anyone who registers and subscribes to receive these notifications.
If you are already registered/subscribed and your information (phone number, etc) has not changed then you do not have to do anything. You will receive notifications if you received them last year.
If your information has changed since you made your account last year, you will need to log into your account and update your information in order to receive notification.
If you have not signed up and registered but would like to receive notifications about program closings, delayed openings and early releases you must go through the process of signing up.
Attached you will find a document that walks you through the process of signing up to receive text message and email alerts.
You must go through the process of signing yourself up for this service and selecting the NLG program(s) and location(s) you want to receive notifications for. Any future changes to your information must also be completed by you through the RAVE portal.
While the portal is branded with NLG’s logo and colors and looks similar to NLG’s web site, it is provided and maintained by RAVE. NLG cannot create an account or manage subscriptions to alerts on your behalf. You will need to register and select which programs and locations you wish to receive alerts from and will need to ensure the information remains up to date.
The attached document appears lengthy because it has numerous screen shots of what you will see at the various stages of your account setup within the portal. Signup is very easy and should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
***Step 10 is extremely important. Make sure you click on the “opt-in lists” tab and put a check mark next to the program that you would like to receive notification from.
